The release we bring to MOAI Magazine today has a curious history. Per Hammar, Swedish born in Helsinborg, dj, producer, founder of Dirty Hands and co-founder of 10YEARS (both record labels) one day discovers that he has Olga Korol as a neighbour in the same building in the Schillerkiez area of Berlin.
Olga Korol is Ukrainian, born in Odessa, DJ and producer, and together with Denis Korablev and Pan Sancho founded the label Body Parts Records. Discovering their closeness during the first quarantine in Germany due to the pandemic, the two artists joined creative forces in the home studio that Per had set up in his house.
The EP opens with Na Zare, an energetic rhythm track with vocal bursts from Olga Korol, which is followed by Yard B, sailing through almost minimal waters and with a more experimental spirit.
The third track on the EP is gestated when the world comes out of the first big quarantine and Olga is invited by Per to a Dirty Hands event in Malmö. The duo then create Hibernation, a percussive track that could accompany any Electro track, albeit at a more relaxed pace.
To close the EP, Pressure Traxx label boss Arno delivers a remix of Hibernation with Sci-Fi inspired sounds that gives it an excellent, laid back finish.
The EP will be released on vinyl and digitally. It can be listened to and pre-ordered here.
