Today at MOAI Magazine we present a truly international effort from Melopée Records. This French label is based in Lyon and, as they define themselves, they are inspired by a vintage side where artists are in love with drum machines and synthesizers.

And the effort is international because Owl, the compilation brought to us by the Lyon-based label, brings us creations by artists from multiple countries. We start with the Catalan Ivan Fabra, who brings us The Third Voice, a cut between Cosmic Disco and Indie Dance, followed by the Londoners Beyond The Struttosphere with Pontiac Firebird, in a very similar vein to the previous track.

We cross the ocean to Argentina with Favio Inker and Discovered Time, which enters borderline Techno territory with a hypnotic bassline that attacks from the start of the track. From there we go back to Spain, specifically to Toledo with David Martin, aka K-Effect, with Platform 19, pure Cosmic Disco with a narcotic beat. And the next track doesn’t take us very far, specifically to Salamanca with Parissior, founder and visible head of one of MOAI’s collaborating labels, Espacio Cielo. Keep Using Me is the title of Parissior’s track, with the usual trademark of the house, intense and effective Dark Disco.

The next trip takes us to Lyon, with Myrddin, the founder of Melopée, who brings us The Revenge, Italo Disco with energetic downloads and a high tempo. The next cut is Right Winger, a trip back in time to the eighties of the last century to which the Belgian David Body takes us, and to close the compilation, we fly to Mexico with The Bogeyman and Tnt 4 the brain, another trip to the aforementioned decade, with vocoder included in the ticket.

A compilation that brings together a list of themes with these sounds that never go out of fashion and that even in these times are especially popular.
