In the 1051 Magazine team we love to dive and find hidden gems, and one of the places where we find these gems is in the American continent. We have found amazing underground music in Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and this time we are going to Ecuador.
And, in their own words, “Pájaro de Caña is a collective whose purpose is the union and empowerment of Ecuadorian underground electronic music”. Collective without any profit motive (their two compilations can be downloaded for free here… but from these pages we ask you to collaborate voluntarily with this collective when you press the download button…), that opens its doors to any artist of the country. These were their requirements to complete this second compilation:
* To be of Ecuadorian nationality.
* Send between 2 and 4 tracks in Private downloadable link, per artist (Wav or Mp3 320kbps).
* If you have collaborative projects you can send as a demo 2 extra tracks of the same in addition to the individual pack.
* Genres: break, Deep Tech, Minimal, microhouse & experimental.
The result is unbeatable. A handful of young Ecuadorian artists have left their art in these fourteen tracks, which move in the waters of House music fundamentally but in its most underground aspects, completely away from any hint of commerciality.
We have tremendously enjoyed this compilation, which was released yesterday, December 20th. And it has helped us to discover the first compilation they released in the summer of 2020.
