João Pedro Vieira Da Silva is the real name of Jepe, a Portuguese born in Aveiro, whose spirit remains anchored to the beaches of his hometown, although he now lives inland in Berlin.
In the mid-1990s, he began his long love affair with music on the radio, and soon after, he was already taking up his first residency as a DJ in Aveiro. Later he became involved in booker duties, which he combined with his day job until he decided to devote himself full time to music.
The next challenge was to produce his own music, and that came together with Antonio Bastos, aka Mr. Beat, under the name The Johnwaynes. In this duo, João released a handful of EPs for six years on labels such as Compost and Mule Musiq, building a reputation beyond the borders of his homeland.
And at this point in his life, João faces another challenge and moves to Berlin, leaving behind that part of his career, in which he already had a name and a reputation, and a new period opens in which he is reborn as a solo artist and with the name under which he has been releasing since then, Jepe.
New challenges, a new studio at home, new professional expectations… and a new musical life, which is taking shape until the release of a few EPs and a couple of albums that have been true catalysts of his influences and inspirations, somewhat distant from the dancefloor in general terms (although it is true that the first one, The Realm, had a remix version that was really for clubbing).
On the EP, which we present today, Jepe once again releases on his home label, Moodmusic Records, and returns to the dancefloor with tremendous force. Sud Ost is a huge, uncompromising, classic House banger, with a unique intention, which is none other than to make sweat to everyone who listens to it.
