Emma Kirby, better known as Elkka, is a versatile Londoner. Dj, producer and label boss (Femme Culture), this time she brings us the first preview of her new EP Euphoric Melodies, which will be released on May 21st on Technicolour Records.
Burnt Orange is the name of this track that marks his debut on Ninja Tune’s sub-label. A track that radiates light, colour and optimism, transporting us to imaginary dancefloors (at least for now) with a House spirit. This EP will succeed the acclaimed I Miss Raving, released in 2020, which already attracted the attention of the specialized press despite being set in more experimental terrain.Regarding Burnt Orange, Elkka has said “I want to create music for intimate and public spaces”, and he has clearly and evidently achieved it… it can be enjoyed either in the intimacy of headphones on a sunny morning or on one of our longed-for dancefloors feeling the summer heat.
Emma made a fundamental shift in her career as an artist in 2016, when she left her singer-songwriter side to embrace electronica and founded the Femme Culture collective and record label in the same year. And, taking in consideration her creations since then, we have to be very grateful for that change of course in her career.
