Once again Robert Hood returns to 1051 Magazine, and this time (again) with his daughter Lyric and the paternal-filial denomination, Floorplan (the last time the Detroit genius visited us was under another of his aliases, Monobox).
To close out this week’s legends poker, Hood brings us a highly infectious, Gospel and Soul House bombardment to instantly raise temperatures on dancefloors around the world.
They’re back on Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter’s Classic Music Company label, distributed by Defected Records. The EP opens with Get My Mansion Ready, with an absolutely Gospel vocal entrance to start the track, a thumping bass line and addictive keyboard pattern. Once again, father and daughter are straight to the heart of the dance floor, creating anthems in the form of sonic artefacts, ballistic missiles that will turn any club or festival upside down.
The second track on the EP don´t fall behind. Out Of Control follows the path of the first track, but in a slightly deeper and somewhat denser, darker key, although with another dose of fast-paced rhythm that inevitably gets into the body.
Hood has been busy in this year 2021, with these two releases of Floorplan, a remix collaboration with the great Nina Simone that will be released soon, and the Monobox Ep and album. Pure joy for our ears.
Available for pre oder here, release date November 5th.
