Today we are going to dedicate this first day of the week to national products, of which there are some and of very good quality. And among this product, for some time now we have wanted to approach a label that stands out for the good taste and quality of its catalogue, both in terms of music and in terms of graphic design and image, which is something we are always grateful for.
This label is Flumo Recordings, founded back in 2006 by Vicente Rodríguez, aka Nicson, in the south of our country, Seville. Since then, Flumo’s catalogue has been filled with talent, both local and national as well as international, being today established both in the Andalusian capital and in London. For all this, but above all for his careful selection of his repertoire, we are delighted to be able to dedicate a space to him in 1051 Magazine.
The perfect excuse has been the recent release of And Finally…. EP, by Sevillian DJ and producer Feros. Present in the local and regional scene for a few years now, playing in DJ booths all over Andalusia, Feros has been making music since he was very young in the bosom of his family, where he grew up listening to opera recordings at his parents’ house. Also from very early on, he began his classical musical training at the piano, and later on he started to discover electronic sounds all over the world. From the Florida Breakbeat scene and Detroit Techno, to the Acid House culture of the UK and the far-reaching electronic movements of Europe.
The EP opens with Elysium, which begins with a broken melodic pattern and synthesized vocals, which soon gives way to a classic four-four rhythm at a nice cadence that dampens as the track progresses before re-emerging into an emotional rollercoaster that takes us up and down the dancefloor.
Reverie is the second cut of the EP, with broken rhythms and acid sequences of enormous impact that make us travel on a journey that almost reaches eight minutes, without showing a single second of weakness. Finally, Feros makes us embark on Nimbus, pure cosmic emotion that serves as the perfect closing track for the EP.
