Anders Trentemøller, the Copenhagen-born Danish musician, DJ and producer, decided years ago that his solo career would take a different, more personal, intricate and dense path. Although he would continue to be one of the most acclaimed and sought-after producers and remixers, remixing Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys as well as Röyksopp or Kasper Bjørke, in works that have been dancefloor bombs all over the world.
But Anders has long since set up his own label, In My Room, around 2010. Since then, this has been the vehicle through which he has brought his sonic artefacts to the public.
Today we present the second single from his sixth album, Memoria, due in February 2022. The first advance of this new album was In The Gloaming, somewhat more electronic, but following the line that Trentemøller has been accustomed to in recent years. Now comes a second single taken from Memoria, All Too Soon (the EP also includes the previous single, In The Gloaming).
A beautiful song, in a happier tone than the first single, that could perfectly be signed by the New Order of the first half of the eighties or by a 4AD group in the second half of that decade, such as Lush. Pop melody with impeccable execution entirely by the musician and producer from Stockholm, playing keyboards, bass, drums and guitar with the help on guitars by Silas Tinglef and Lisbet Fritze, who also takes care of the vocals with an outstanding performance.
This release only reinforces something that has been known for some time. Anders Trentemøller, apart from being an excellent dj and one of the most acclaimed and sought-after remixers of the last decades, is a complete musician, who controls and manages all aspects of music production with tremendous mastery.
The EP is available here, and Memoria can be pre-order here.
