Today 1051 Magazine welcomes another legend of electronic music, another of those names that have not yet received their deserved recognition.
Aksel Schaufler, half of the tremendous Pachanga Boys with Rebolledo, but known as Superpitcher, has been working in the international underground scene for more than two decades. His name is normally associated with Kompakt Records, where he has released almost all of his discography, although it is true that he has appeared on two compilations on the Swedish label Studio Barnhus. And finally, in this prelude to the summer of 2021 comes his debut solo release on Studio Barnhus.
Lonely Lover is the title of the recently released EP, with two different tracks but with similar inspiration and the personal and inimitable stamp of the German producer. Lonely Lover, the title track of the EP, is over ten minutes of psychedelic and hypnotic Balearic, with perfect female vocal loops and rhythmic pattern breaks. The second track follows the lead of the first, with more than ten minutes of another lysergic dose of electronica with constant rhythm and sonic influences from distant lands, that’s Smile It’s A New Day.
At this point in his career, every new Aksel release is an event to celebrate. Few like him bring us sonic journeys of personal identity and without any concessions to fashions or hype.
