1051 Magazine Premiere | Ian Kita – Synchronous Vibrations

1051 Magazine Premiere | Ian Kita – Synchronous Vibrations

Today we have a premiere of an emerging yet experienced artist from the Czech scene, Ian Kita, who presents his new track Synchronous Vibrations.

This new release, which will be on sale this January 14th, is an energetic cut that travels between the borders of Techno and House, with a powerful rhythmic base and melodies that turn on themselves to deliver a highly danceable sonic artefact.

But, apart from this premiere, we also want our readers to get to know the Czech DJ and producer …. a little more.

– Who is Ian Kita?

– Hello to all the readers of 1051 Magazine. I’m 39 years old and I live in Zlín which is located in the east of the Czech Republic.

– Your first musical memories, the first records you bought and when.

I got my first record from a friend in 1997 and in 1998 I tried DJing for the first time. I knew right away that this was what I was looking for. For me DJing was and is an expression of feelings without words and a spiritual thing.

– Did you have any musical training as a child? Maybe later on?

As a young boy I went to music school for 3 years where I learned to play the violin. At the same time, I was self-taught on the piano. I still use the piano now in production.

– When and where was your first public DJ set?

My first public performance took place on 9.7.1999 at an outdoor event in Zlín. At that time, it was still the beginning of all of this in the Czech Republic and DJing was a completely different thing than it is now.

– Tell us about your best memory of a set, session….

I really like to remember the period from 2001 to 2005. During that time, I got to experience what it was like to play for thousands of people at big festivals. Sometimes I had three sets in a night. But the greatest experience of that time was closing the 2005 Summer of Love festival on the main stage.

– Your current influences, favourite DJs/producers, last track you like to play in your sets…

I’ve become a bit of a musical chameleon at the moment. I can play sets from Deep House to Techno. I’m influenced a lot by Spanish producer David Herrero or French Matt Sassari. I love to play older Ben Sims stuff but I can’t think of a specific track. Thousands of tracks are released every day these days and it’s hard to single out anything in particular.

– When did you start producing your own tracks? What was your first release?

I’ve been producing music since 2001 and my first release was in 2003 on vinyl on the Samopal Records label.

– Do you have your own studio? Tell us about your favourite equipment… hardware, VST…

Yes, my friends and I have a studio in Zlín. There we do playing and production. My favourite machines are Moog Subsequent 37 or Roland JD-XI. I use VST more for mastering but for example ARP Odyssey is very useful for me now.

– Which is your favourite release among all your tracks?

I’ve released over 200 releases in the time I’ve been producing and the style of production and especially the sound is changing and evolving. Each track is a memory of a period for me and the feelings I put into them. Right now, my current track is Otmal which was released on the Italian label Natura Viva. I connected with the universe while making this track and it’s exactly what I want to do next.

– Tell us about Synchronous Vibrations… your feelings about the track, inspirations, what equipment you used…

This track will now be released on the Czech label OneWay which is owned by the great DJs and producers Subgate and Tomas Sinn. This track is a mixture of a few ARP sounds that are teetering on the edge of Techno. I wanted to make something that rolls and it’s kind of my current expression.

– What are Ian Kit’s plans for 2022?

My plans for this year are clear. To push myself in music production and try to reach out to bigger labels. I already have plans to play bigger festivals in the summer which I’m really looking forward to. DJ Manisch and I are currently organizing a club night in Zlín every month. We want to push it there as well to have a quality club night in our city. Anyway, I wish all the readers all the best for the new year and have a great year.

And we want to thank you for your time and wish you all the luck with this new release and for this year 2022.
