Today we have another premiere from our friends at Citizens Of Vice, a label we are particularly fond because their always elegant selection of releases.
This time it brings us a new EP from Icelandic DJ and producer Björn Gauti Björnsson, this time under his alias Tonarunur. Tonarunur is originally from the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, where he also lives and works. He is influenced by various styles of music, as well as by the environment of Reykjavik and his previous cities of residence, Madrid and Oslo. His music is very varied, ranging from Sunday pieces to dancefloor oriented grooves.
In the past, Tonarunur has made music under different aliases, and is known for both his original productions and remixes of artists such as Visage and Imagination.
Tonarunur returns to Citizens Of Vice with a delightful modern Disco EP, From Above is the EP in question and is the label’s latest release from another wonderful year of music.
Aside from our premiere track, Quebec From Above, the release is completed by Paris From Above and two remixes of both tracks by Coyote and Erik Skantze.

MAKS is 17 yr old Ben Marks, a Sheffield based aspiring Musician, Producer / DJ and this, his debut release. Introduced to us by the always wonderful Yarni we were instantly drawn to how MAKS single North took us back to the 90’s. It’s also no surprise to hear that MAKS is a big fan of guys such as William Orbit & Moby. Two remixes, one from Sauco, joining Citizens Of Vice again, staying true to the original yet effortlessly adds his magical Balearic touch.
Yarni delivers remix number two and it’s a wonderful reimagining that further proves to us that he is one of the most creative producers out there. This is a wonderful EP from a very talented young man with fantastic remixes from producers we much admire.
