Bézier remixes Locked Groove

Bézier remixes Locked Groove

In the month of November 2021 we reviewed the Nautiluss EP, last year’s final release for Tim van de Meutter, better known as Locked Groove. The Belgian producer is already a regular in our magazine, because he always surprises us with his creations.

And in this case, he brings us a remix of Nautiluss by another artist for whom we also have a soft spot, Bézier, which is one of the aliases of Robert Yang, Californian producer and DJ, one of the first members of the San Francisco gay music collective Honey Soundsystem.

We chose his album Lexicon as one of the albums that ended up on our list of the year. He is another artist whose work always enriches our musical horizon with very interesting sounds and nuances.

In this remix of Nautiluss, Bézier transforms the original (which transported us to those Warp Records sounds of years gone by), into a completely different track, full of energy, overflowing with rhythm and life. An emotive intro gives way to a really unusual drumming, which could be perfectly stolen from one of those extended 12″ versions of the eighties. Bézier’s work on the original is simply brilliant.
