Keep an eye on… Laurence Guy

This Londoner is not a rookie on the music scene, in fact his first edits date back to 2015. But it has been a little over a couple of years since the visibility and projection of Laurence Guy has increased significantly.

But from the beginning, his personal and musical trademark has been elegance and good taste, without this being an impediment to producing highly danceable material.

Always moving in House territories, although with faint influences from other musical aromas such as drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep. Some of his productions reach the shores of Deep House, while others are directly influenced by the elegant and colourful House that marks a large part of his production.

A restless character, he has a record label (Accidental Pieces) that Laurence himself defines as an independent platform that does not depend on distributors or pressing plants and on which he makes many of his productions and edits freely available. He is also a member of Circle Of Life, the collective promoted by Sebastian Mullaert, which also includes other artists such as Mullaert himself, Amp Fiddler and Steffi, among many others.

In recent times, his work has seen the light of day on labels as important as Ninja Tune, Late Night Tales, Studio Barnhus and Mule Musique. His trajectory is ascending and unstoppable, and last year 2020 his last two EP’s Your Good Times Will Come and The Sun Is Warm And Directly Above You received the praise of the specialized critics. And he opens the year 2021 with another EP that goes on sale on April 9th through Shall Not Fade Records, the Bristol label that released his two previous EP´s.

On this occasion we can listen to the second advance release from Mutual Excitement Is A Wonderful Thing, the new EP by Laurence Guy. Love Theme For The Morning After is another track with a hypnotic danceable beat in a Deep House language, another release with the London artist’s trademark. You can pre-order now here, and remember to keep an eye on Laurence Guy.
