Klas-Henrik Lindblad, aka Freestyle Man was born in Finland in 1973, and started DJing in the late 1980s, discovering electronic music at the beginning of the next decade. Between 1992 and 1996 he was in charge of one of the first house clubs in Turku between 92 and 96, where he also started to develop his career as a producer in those days. His first releases came as Freestyle Man in Sähkö/Puu, around 1993, with Markus Irwin Berg as studio support.

Now, in the year 2021, the restless Klas-Henrik is bringing us a series of unreleased tracks recorded at West 20 Studios in Turku between 1994 and 1999.

This new release opens with almost twelve minutes of classic piano-driven house, hypnotic and almost narcotic, yet elegant and silky at the same time. All Nite, Every Nite is its title, which gives way to My Mind To Yours, more House with the aroma of Chicago nights and another almost twelve minutes of progression.

To close this new gift from the musical catacombs of Klas-Henrik (as he says, “From my DAT to your mind” 🙂 ) lands a shorter piece than the previous ones, The Groove Secret, with an organ loop that sometimes turns to take on a life of its own, breaking the pattern.

At MOAI Magazine we declare ourselves unredeemed fans of Freestyle Man and every new gem that comes to us from that fertile musical period fills us with tremendous joy. It will be released on July 9th, you can pre-order it here
