Rafonic´s first release – Chant EP

Rafonic´s first release – Chant EP

Rafonic is the name of the new venture of Andy Paton, a musician originally from Liverpool who is best known as one half of Killaflaw, that eclectic but hard-to-label electronic music group.

In this solo project, Andy Paton is aiming for a more classical sound within electronic music. Chant is his recording debut, although it should be remembered that he made a track as Rafonic over a year ago (Blue Light) as a tribute to Britain’s NHS public health workers.

This new EP brings sounds directly inspired by the raves and Acid House of the second half of the eighties, but with a refreshed and rejuvenated spirit. The title track opens the EP, with a more electro feel and string arrangements to start it off, followed by Rush, with a dose of extra adrenaline and vintage pattern that could be the soundtrack to any rave.

Closing the EP is a delight called 909 Dream…. classic house, dream wrapped in an eternal piano loop.

The beginning of Rafonic’s existence couldn’t be more promising. To illustrate Chant, the artist Samantha E. Harvey has created a video that will leave no one indifferent.

The EP is available now via Hottwerk Records.
