As we said on the occasion of the first EP in this series, Moodmusic Records celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2021 and the birthday party will go on for a few months. A series of EPs will be released to round off the year and the celebrations with a big compilation at the end of the year.
The combination of good taste, originality and love for dancefloors makes it impossible not to follow their releases.
If the first EP was tremendous, the second one is not far behind. To open this second release on the occasion of the anniversary, we have a complete artist, a guy who is capable of closing Amnesia and making thousands of people dance, as well as demonstrating his mastery in the neoclassical music environment. He is perhaps one of the most complete musicians of our times, someone who was said to be responsible for the resurrection of House music not in Chicago but in Germany.
Henrik Schwarz returns to Moodmusic on this 25th anniversary, he returns to the label that saw the release of his firsts 12″ (that unforgettable Chicago…). A Third Place is a track with elements marked with the personal stamp of the musician from Bergatreute. An organic rhythmic base created for dancing, to which melodic elements of jazz inspiration are joined in an original combination. Schwarz is a free spirit, whose mastery frees him from any conventionalism, and this track is a perfect example of that.
The second track on the EP is another collaboration of the boss (Sasse) with another old Moodmusic acquaintance, Filippo Moscatello, another multidisciplinary artist of Italian origin and adopted Berliner. These old friends bring us 303 Day, whose title gives us plenty of clues as to where the beats are coming from on this track. Acid apocalypse with infectious rhythm, catchy bass line and all the elements to raise dancefloor beats late at night.
Looking forward to the next release, and guessing how interesting that compilation will be that brings together all these sonic artefacts that are brewing at Moodmusic. It’s not every day that a label turns twenty-five…
