Steffi and Privacy are Negroni Nails

Steffi and Privacy are Negroni Nails

Steffie Doms is Dutch by birth but Berliner by adoption, because the history of the electronic music scene in the German capital cannot be understood without the name of Steffi. DJ, producer, founder and head of several labels, this woman has been a pioneer in the rise of women both on the scene and in the electronic music business.

As a DJ, apart from being a fixture in the booths of clubs and festivals around the world, Steffi is a fundamental part of the history of the legendary Berghain and its Panorama Bar.

There is no need for many introductions to talk about Steffi. On this occasion, and on one of her labels, Klakson Records, the Dutchwoman joins forces once again with the German DJ and producer Privacy in this duo called Negroni Nails, with whom they had already released some previous work.

Slow Motion Drip is an EP with four tremendous tracks full of energy, four dancefloor-friendly releases without concession. The title track opens the fire with a rhythmic base that exudes sweat in each of its beats, without neglecting a careful melodic pattern. It is followed by Speed Scale, with a somewhat more minimalist approach that continues without dropping the beats, then giving way to Vertical Slice, more Techno but this time with Dub influences at the beginning to open the way to another frenetic rhythm.

Closing the EP is our favourite, Passive Attention, which is different from the rest in its conception, with a more restrained rhythm but with a hypnotic pattern and Acid amusement scents.

Fantastic and complete EP by Negroni Nails, pure danceable ballistic missile. And in these times, with so much excess of badly called Techno, it’s a blessing to hear good Techno, the kind that doesn’t seem to be all made with the same machine.
